Makita LXT Lithium-ion Tool Warranty
The Makita LXT Lithium-ion Warranty applies to both new and factory-reconditioned Makita tools. Every Makita ® 18V and 14.4V LXT Lithium-Ion Industrial Power Tool is thoroughly inspected and tested before leaving the factory. If you are not satisfied with Makita 18V and 14.4V LXT Lithium-Ion tool within 30 days of purchase, return it and Makita will provide a replacement or refund. Every Makita 18V and 14.4V LXT Lithium-Ion tool is warranted to be free of defects from workmanship and materials for the period of THREE YEARS from the date of original purchase. The Makita LXT Lithium-ion battery has a limited one-year warranty. Should any trouble develop during the three-year period, return the COMPLETE tool, freight prepaid, to one of Makita's Factory or Authorized Service Centers.If inspection shows the trouble is caused by defective workmanship or material, Makita will repair (or at our option, replace) without charge. This warranty does not apply to Makita Accessories, like flashlights.

This disclaimer applies to both during and after the term of this warranty. Was amazed to find that this saw is every bit the equal to my (very excellent) Bosch corded model. While the old-standby corded Bosch is still one of my favorite tools, this Makita is in every way its equal, but cordless!! It cuts aggressively, but is smooth as silk; the blade clamp is super-easy to use, and has yet to loosen up in use. I couldn't be happier unless the contours cut themselves!

I bought this to replace 14.4 volt Makita. I have owned the 14.4 volt Makita jig saw for over 5 years. I also have a Bosch corded saw which I thought was the best saw available but I found myself going to the Makita time after time when I needed to use a jig saw. The 14.4 had plenty of power this has more. Changing blades is so simple with the 18 volt that you would not believe it. Simple blade change, strong and powerful. I am impressed with this tool. This cordless jig saw is awesome. I decided to upgrade my 10 year old cordless 14.4 volt DeWalt drill\driver last year to the 18 volt Makita LXT series tools and have been thrilled with every purchase. The BJV180 is every bit as powerful as my Bosch 1587AVS corded jig saw and includes a light which is much appreciated by my aging eyes. I have not been able to run through a complete battery yet, so I would say that the battery life is more than adequate to handle most jobs.
