Exceptional Tool
With a carbide bur the speed of rotation can be reduced so that the bit doesn't chatter in a hole when working steel & other materials.

works perfect, lasts a long time
Slow speed is what cuts and polishes stainless steel. But WOW this grinder gets hot. I have had this one more than 5 years. used it to build a very large cheese plant. suggest when it's to hot to hold stop and let it cool. works perfectly, lasts a long time.

Good product with good price.
The variable speed is shown as from 1 to 5 and there are 3 marks betewn the numbers so you kind have to figure out what those speed would be and the speeder is loose. I wish the specif speed was more detailed and you could lock on such speed. Kind of hard to know you if you are running at 12 or 16 thousand or at 18 0r 21 thousand. The straight speeds are 1- 7000, 2- 10000, 3- 17000 4- 24000 and 5 28000. So each mark betwen 1 and 2 would be One more thousand but betwen 2and 3 would be 2300.... Makita, make it more detailed, please.
