Great deal, great tools
The length that these batteries last is amazing. A huge convenience not charging all the time. Also there lighter due to the battery weight. I highly recommend this product and will be buying more 18 volt LXT products..

Great set of tools
I purchased the products after my, ah-hem, 10 year old Dewalt cordless drill died. I was looking to expand my cordless collection and keep the tools all the same make. I use the tools regularly around the house and in my workshop.
Highlights: plenty of power, quick charging, relatively light weight considering its performance, the accompanying bag holds all the tools with interior holsters and slots
Lows: haven't found any yet.

"The best cordless tools, I ever used."
What I liked about the Makita Factory-Reconditioned 18v Cordless LXT Lithium-ion 4-Piece Combo Kit it easy to stored and how light the tools were in my bag. What really like was the long lasting battery usage and how quickly in charges.

This is a great set of tools
I use these tools everyday in interior trim work, they are lighter and more powerful than the other brands we use on the job, my only complaint is with the bag it comes in. It is too big and bulky and I don't like tossing my tools in a pile.

Professional Grade Tools - Amazing Price
I bought these tools having already established a strong fondness for the 18v Makita line of tools. I have been a carpenter for some time now. I'm working with a high-end home remodeling company, and the Makita cordless tools have been with us since day one. When it comes to durability, reliability, and downright power, they are second to none.

I bought this set to keep in my truck so I have it with me at all times. The main reasoning behind that thought is the impact driver. It is as useful as it is powerful (and trust me, its a beast). With a good set of impact bits there is almost no limit to the number of tasks I find it "perfect" for. From drilling holes in any material to planting drywall screws to sinking large truss-lock lags into thick LVL's, it's just amazing. I also must add that the light is actually a very useful feature. Anybody who spends as much time with this thing in their hands as I do will inevitably find themselves in some funky crawl-space or closet where that extra bit of light is a life saver. It proved its usefulness to me personally the first time I used it for installing kitchen cabinets in a kitchen that had yet to have lighting installed. I also really appreciate the heavy duty belt clip. If my impact driver is not in my hands its on my belt or hanging from my hammer loop, I always have it at my side.

The drill is about what you would expect from a very high quality cordless drill. It has plenty of power for most applications (certainly more then enough power for any project around the house), and the necessary clutch and drive settings to optimize its performance for almost any task. It also has a light and belt clip, which I really appreciate.

The reciprocating saw is awesome as long as your expectations are realistic. People need to remember this is not a 13-amp plug-in saw, its a cordless. That being said, with a fresh battery and a good-quality blade this is a very capable tool. Patience is key when pushing this tool to its limits. If you push too hard or force it to cut with a roached blade it won't be happy. However, with a little finesse it can do almost anything. It is also pretty small for a reciprocating saw, so it can fit in some tight spots.

The flashlight is a flashlight, not much to say here. It is durable and extremely bright. It lights up my whole backyard at once and runs for a long time on a full battery.

The batteries themselves are very durable. They charge quickly and stay cool for the most part (ANY battery will get warm with extended heavy use). The charger is an impressive piece for sure. I know enough about lithium cells and charging them to know this thing means business. It moves a LOT of power in a very short time. It has integrated circuitry that reads each and every cell in a battery pack individually and keeps them all in balance to increase power and the packs lifetime. It monitors the packs temp at all times and will always allow a battery time to cool down if it is deemed necessary (another feature that increases the packs life). It even has five or six different end-of-charge notification tones (or songs) that can be chosen from, that way if other people on the same job site have Makita tools as well, you can customize your charger so you will always know when its yours going off.

Now for the reasons I gave it four stars instead of the five that I feel the tools themselves fully deserve. First was the packaging. The way this reconditioned kit came packaged was terrible at best. It was basically a pile of tools in a big brown box. Literally, a pile of tools. There were no cardboard dividers or bubble wrap or anything. Just a pile of loose tools bumping and banging at the bottom of the box. Thank god these tools are so extremely durable it really didn't matter. It also occurred to me that if the tape on that box had failed (and it wasn't the best tape-job to begin with) my tools would have been scattered all over the floor in some warehouse or in the back of some delivery truck somewhere. Not cool, but I must add this note: I get the impression that Makita themselves where responsible for this, not CPO. It seemed like factory packaging and labels, and the packing tape had "Makita" printed on it. All said and done, tho, it did hold up and everything was in the box, so it is what it is. My other complaint is with the contractor bag that all the tools are kept in. The bag itself is a beauty. Its very heavy material with lots of pockets and ample room for more tools in the future. It is built to last for sure, BUT the zipper on mine was broken when I got it. Its the kind that has two zipper "heads" so it can be zipped from either direction, but one of them is badly bent so it wont move. I'm afraid that if I try to mess with it too much it will just snap off completely (major disappointment on such a beautiful bag, a real shame). It's okay in my eyes, tho, as I don't intend to zip the bag shut all that often. I tend to just close the flap over, grab the bag, and go, which works well for me. Those are my only two complaints, and they are hardly a deal breaker in my eyes.

I have a good friend who is an electrician by trade, and he uses the Milwaukee 18v tools. He like them just as much as I like my Makitas. I have held and used them extensively, and like them a lot, however they just don't feel as comfortable in my hands. I have also had my hands on the De-Walt tools as well, and they just don't seem nearly as nice as the Makitas in my opinion (or the Milwaukees for that matter).

To sum it all up, these are pro-grade tools for the professional that uses his tools to earn a paycheck, or for the serious weekend warrior who can appreciate top of the line equipment. In my opinion these are the best cordless tools on the market, bar none. If you are still unsure about which cordless brand to go with, get a Makita impact driver in your hands and prepare to be impressed.
