Awesome Compressor
I use this compressor for roofing jobs and small construction work. It is heavy compared to my old Porter Cable pancake compressor - but it is such a great compressor - I'll overlook the weight. It is still portable - just a little heavier. My pancake compressor had a hard time keeping up with me, and it wore out fairly quicky. Quality components and design. Super quiet and it fills the tank fast! Fit and finish of the product is excellent.

It keeps up with my framing nailer, even while nailing sheathing. It is heavy, but I've moved heavier and more awkward compressors. The carry handle and layout make it easy to carry through doorways. This is the first "oil" based compressor I've been around so I don't know how it compares to other "oilers", but it is remarkably quiet and builds pressure quickly. Yes, you really can carry on a conversation while standing next to it! That was the main reason I chose this one and so far I am very happy with it.I have also used it to fill car tires and to blow away debris and sawdust after using table and chop saws (much quicker cleanup than using a broom).I like the ball drain valve to bleed the tank after use - nice feature. The regulator works well and the units size and shape makes for a small footprint that keeps it "out of the way".[...]

Quiet Workhorse
Unbelievably quiet compared to others. Rubber feet make it a favorite with the wife for all indoor use. I love it so don't take the negatives to seriously. Slightly awkward handle placement and just a little top heavy for transport, but one tie down does the trick.

Nice unit
I am a professional remodeler and needed a compressor I could carry around in the truck all the time so it had to be small. I looked at all the tool stores and on-line and this is the smallest unit I found.
I was pleasantly surprized by how quiet it was and how fast if filled with air. I also liked that it can be plugged into normal outlets and not trip breakers.
It is more expensive than oiless units, but I have had those wear out quickly so I am OK with the extra cost.

I'm Impressed
This compressor is incredibly quite compared to other compressors I have used. You can hold a normal conversation standing right next to it when it is on. It also fills very quickly and is perfect for running pneumatic nailers.

Very nice compressor
It works very well with my 18g brad and 16g finish nailer.I have used it for a small framing project and it did the job.Not as light as some of the small pancake compressors but still easy to transport.

MAC 700 Air Compressor
The greatest thing about this compressor is how quiet it is. Compared to other compressors, you can hardly hear it. Big plus when working in the basement in close quarters. It has the power to drive all my air tools.

One beefy little compressor
Everything the reviews have said. It's beefy which translates to durable. Super quite and fills fast. Nice small footprint for garage storage. My kitchen contractor had one and he's particular about his tools. More than suitable for my woodworking and inflation needs at least until I get the bug for high CFM air tools.

will it run an impact gun requiring a 80 gallon compessor?
questioner on Oct 23, 2012
BEST ANSWER: Hi, yes, as long as the CFM specifications match up, it will run an impact gun requiring an 80 gallon compressor storage tank, but it will need to run the compressor after only a moment or two of using the impact gun in order to provide it with the amount of air it needs.
In other words, you'll need to wait between uses of the impact gun quite frequently.
will this work with a framing nailer
Jack of all trades on Nov 6, 2013
BEST ANSWER: I have fired cases of framing nails with this compressor. The only time it might lag is nailing a bunch of subfloor fast and that is no big deal, just wait 10 seconds and go back to it. This is an awesome compressor.
What type of oil?
A shopper on May 4, 2017
BEST ANSWER: It comes with oil bottle adequate to fill. Google Owners Manual for Makita Mac700 and go to page 12 for type of oil which is based on ambient temperature in which it is operated. too long to list here

New Vs. Reconditioned

What's the difference between New and Factory-Reconditioned?

Factory-Reconditioned products have been returned to the manufacturer and are restored to like-new operating condition; they go through a rigorous testing and inspection process. Plus, they offer a significant savings vs. new.
  • Reconditioned products may have minor cosmetic blemishes or scratches that do not affect item performance.
  • Reconditioned products may not come with all of the consumables the new version comes with (bits, sanding pads/papers, cases, etc.).
  • Both come with a manufacturer warranty and are covered by our Money Back Guarantee; New is 30 days, Reconditioned is 120 days.
